SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State lacrosse team will conduct its annual Winter Defrost Clinic on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at Aztec Lacrosse Field.
The clinic is open to all girls in grades 7-12 who are preparing for high school, middle school and club team tryouts. This intensive session will focus on stick work, shooting and other lacrosse fundamentals. Registration for the clinic is $60 and can be completed by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
San Diego State opens its seventh season of competition on Sunday, Feb. 11, when it travels to the Bay Area for a clash with the University of California, starting at noon. The Aztecs will return to “America’s Finest City" for their home opener the following weekend when they battle Arizona State on Saturday, Feb. 17, beginning at 1 p.m.
In addition to seven home games, SDSU’s 2018 regular-season schedule features contests with four schools that qualified for the NCAA Tournament last year, as well as two conference finalists. For the first time in program history, the Aztecs will also play host to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships next April.
SDSU returns 20 experienced veterans, including tri-captains Mackenzie Lech, Natalie Peel and Harlowe Steele along with a talented class of 13 newcomers, featuring three high school All-Americans, seven all-region/all-county performers, eight all-conference selections, two all-state/all-section picks and one conference player of the year recipient.
San Diego State is coming off its most successful season in program history in 2017, when it registered a school-record 10 victories, including its first-ever postseason win with an 18-13 conquest of Oregon in the MPSF tournament.
