Was a two-year letterwinner at nearby Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, Calif. ... According to MaxPreps, was 2-1 with a 0.93 ERA as a senior in 2015 and 4-4 with a 3.03 ERA as a junior in 2014 ... Helped the Lancers to back-to-back first division championships (2013-14) at CIF's and a combined 43-14-1 (.750) record over those two seasons ...
