Danielle O'Toole Named MW Pitcher of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State sophomore Danielle O'Toole (Upland, Calif.) has been named the Mountain West Pitcher of the Week, the league announced today. It is the third career weekly honor for O'Toole and her second weekly accolade this season.
O'Toole went 4-0 with a 0.97 ERA over 21 2/3 innings last weekend at the San Diego Classic II (does not include Monday's stats). The left-hander appeared in all five games, starting three with two complete games and a shutout. O'Toole struck out 18 batters against three walks, while limiting the opposition to a .207 average. All 17 hits she gave up were singles.
O'Toole got the win vs. UT Arlington on Friday after tossing 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, allowing one hit and no walks, while striking out three. In the nightcap vs. Long Beach State, she threw a complete game shutout, giving up six hits and two walks, while posting two strikeouts.
O'Toole pitched 2/3 relief innings with one hit allowed vs. UT Arlington on Saturday, before picking up the win in the second game vs. Harvard. In the game with the Crimson, she allowed three hits and a walk over 4 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out eight.
O'Toole ended her solid weekend with a win vs. Texas Tech on Sunday, yielding four runs (three earned) on six hits over seven innings. She struck out five without issuing a walk.
On the season, O'Toole is 16-3 with a 1.27 ERA and a save over 115 1/3 innings. She has started 16 of the team's 29 games, completing 13 of them with three solo shutouts and a combined shutout. O'Toole has 105 strikeouts against just 14 walks, holding the opposition to .209 average.
O'Toole's 16 wins are tied for the NCAA lead. She's also 13th in walks allowed per seven innings (0.86), tied for 37th in strikeouts, tied for 42nd in shutouts (3) and 43rd in ERA.
