COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State’s Marissa Moreno has been named the Mountain West Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. It is the first career MW weekly award for the sophomore.

On Thursday, Moreno tossed a one-hitter in a 2-0 SDSU win, pitching six innings of no-hit ball until a single led off the seventh inning. Moreno retired the first 17 batters she faced, allowing the one infield single and two walks, while striking out five. On Saturday, Moreno picked up the win, allowing just two runs on five hits and a walk over six innings of relief, while setting a career high with seven strikeouts.
On the season, Moreno was 6-16 with a 3.29 ERA in a team-high 155 1/3 innings. She struck out 81 against 52 walks, while limiting the opposition to a .275 average.
