Swim & Dive Places Second at MW Championships

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The San Diego State swimming and diving concluded the Mountain West Championships at the Palo Alto College Aquatic Center and placed second for the team’s ninth consecutive top-three finish. The Aztecs finished with 1105.5 points, 144.5 points behind Mountain West champion Boise State.

McKenna Meyer finished in fourth place in
Klara Thormalm recorded a second-place finish and the third fastest time ever by an Aztec in the 200 breast at 2:12.13. In the very next event, Frida Berggren reeled in her second individual title of the MW championships, inching out Emily Huffer of New Mexico in the 200 fly by 0.35 seconds with a first-place time of 1:58.05. Berggren’s time also stands as the second fastest in school history and sits just .04 seconds behind Summer Harrison’s school record of 1:58.01.
Alexandra Caplan led SDSU in platform diving competition, posting a score of 238.89.
