Swim & Dive Welcomes Trio of MW Teams Monday

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State swimming and diving continues its 2017-18 campaign on Monday, hosting Colorado State, Fresno State and New Mexico for a meet beginning at 10:00 a.m. from the Aztec Aquaplex.
This is SDSU's final meet against Mountain West competition before the 2018 Mountain West Championship on Feb. 14 - 17 in San Antonio, Texas. According to College Swimming, SDSU currently ranks first in the MW in college championship team rankings with 712.90 points. The Aztecs are closely followed by Boise State at 711.45 points, while Monday's opposition of New Mexico, Colorado State
The Aztecs have won all eight of their dual meets in 2017 and are winners of 22 consecutive dual meets dating back to the 2015-16 season. On top of the dual-meet success, the Aztecs claimed its second A3 Invitational title in the last four years on Nov. 19 at the Aztec Aquaplex. McKenna Meyer, who has had a standout sophomore campaign after winning Freshman of the Meet honors in the 2017 Mountain West Championships, earned Swimmer of the Meet honors as the highest total point-getter at the A3 Invitational. Heading into the later stages of the season, Meyer owns B-cut times in the 500 free (4:45.89), 200 IM (2:00.51) and 400 IM (4:12.46).
Frida Berggren owns a trio of B-cut times as well, including a 1:59 in the 200 fly, a 2:00.93 in the 200 IM, and a 4:14.06 in the 400 IM. Elli Ferrin possess a B-cut score of 54.55 in the 100 back, while Summer Harrison and Courtney Vincent each have times worthy of B-cut status in the 100 fly at 53.88 and 54.42, respectively.
On the diving board, the Aztecs have been led by senior Alexandra Caplan, who posted a season-best 342.12 on the 3-meter board on Dec. 22 against Air Force and Cal Poly.
After the conclusion of Monday's quad meet, the Aztec divers look towards the UCLA Diving Invite on Jan. 12 - 14, while the entire squad wraps up regular-season action on Jan. 19 in a dual meet against San Diego.
