Swim & Dive Hosts Cal Poly and Air Force Friday

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State swimming and diving team will be in action Friday morning, serving host to Cal Poly and Air Force for a double dual meet at the Aztec Aquaplex at 11:00 a.m. SDSU looks to extend its dual meet winning streak to 21.
The Aztecs are ending a three-week break from competition, as the team most recently topped UC San Diego (157-132) and Pepperdine (189-90) in a double dual meet on Dec. 1. The Aztecs have defeated all six of its dual meet opponent this season, in addition to a first-place finish in the A3 Invitational on Nov. 18.
Alexandra Caplan was named Mountain West Diver of the Week for the seventh time in her four-year career for her efforts against Pepperdine and UCSD on Dec. 1. The senior posted a pair of NCAA-Zone-qualifying scores with a 325.20 in one-meter action and a 315.15 in
McKenna Meyer has been one of the top performers in the MW this season, owning B-cut times in the 500 free (4:45.89 at A3 Invitational), 200 IM (2:00.51 at A3 Invitational) and 400 IM (4.12.46 at A3 Invitational). Meyer’s time in the 400 IM is the best in the Mountain West this season.

Following Friday’s event, the Aztecs will take a one-week break for the holidays before hosting Oregon State on Dec. 30.
