No. 48 Women's Tennis Tops Hawai'i, 6-1

The new week brought a new outcome for the 48th-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team. The Aztecs rebounded, 6-1, against the Rainbow Wahine on Monday at Aztec Tennis Center. With the victory, SDSU has a 4-3 mark on the season.
Laura Antonaña Iriarte and doubles partner Kristin Buth were the first Aztecs to put San Diego State on the board as the duo dismissed Xenia Suworowa and Paulina Petriskova on court No. 1, 8-3. Dora Somoracz and Hailey Johnson claimed the point for SDSU as they defeated Rebecca Faltusz and Cindy Nguyen in second doubles, 8-6. On court No. 3, Tami Nguyen and Isabelle Hoorn completed the Aztec sweep by downing Sarah Gealer and Martina Kostalova, 8-7 (5).
Senior Antonaña Iriarte notched her second win on the day by defeating Nguyen in first singles, 6-3, 6-4. In third singles, Tami Nguyen downed Suworowa, 6-1, 6-4. Court No. 5 would see UH's only point as Petriskova got past Johnson, 6-4, 6-1. Hoorn took her match in sixth singles to three sets to ensure another point for the Aztecs as she topped Faltusz, 1-6, 6-4, 7-5. Kennedy Davis posted San Diego State's sixth and final point of the day as she defeated Gealer in fourth singles, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (5).
SDSU will hit the road for a two-match stay in Seattle as it faces No. 41 Washington on Friday at 1:30 pm and 37th-ranked Saint Mary's on Saturday at noon.
