SAN DIEGO - San Diego State suffered a 7-0 defeat to fourth-ranked Southern California Tuesday afternoon at Aztec Tennis Center. The loss is SDSU's second straight and evens its record at 3-3.

The Women of Troy controlled the match from the outset as it swept all three doubles matches to grab the point and in the process handed the Aztecs' No. 1 duo of Sisse Nielsen and Dita Hauerlandova their first loss of the season. The 8-3 defeat snapped their four-match winning streak and are now 4-1 this spring.

In singles, it was much of the same as Southern California claimed victories at all six positions.

SDSU newcomers freshman Esther Cadua and junior Yuki Hagiwara were first off the court after losing in straight sets at No. 5-6 to give USC a commanding 3-0 lead.

The match-clinching victory came at No. 4 as Luana Magnani defeated Nielsen, 7-5, 6-3.

Southern California closed out the match with three other straight sets victories to complete the shutout.

The No. 54 Aztecs return to the courts Thursday, Feb. 23, when they take on Pepperdine in Malibu, Calif. The match is slated for a 1:30 p.m. PST start.
