SAN DIEGO - Wednesday afternoon the 62nd-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team was victorious over Denver University, 5-2. The win stretches the Aztecs' streak to three and bumps their record to 7-6 on the season.

SDSU handled doubles smoothly, sweeping Denver across all three matches. On court No. 3, Julia Trunk and Emma Cioffi took down Denver duo Caroline Schnell and Natalie Dunn in a stunning 8-0 shutout to start the afternoon. The Aztecs took the doubles point, adding to their hot season of doubles play.

In singles, SDSU's Alicia Aguilar took down Gabrielle Boboc quickly at No. 3. In the first NCAA game of her career, Denver's Boboc was unable to respond as Aguilar took strong control over the scores, finishing with a win for the Aztecs, 6-0, 6-1.

At No. 1 Julia Trunk struggled as Denver Pioneer Sophia Bergner won the first game swiftly 6-1. Trunk fought back for SDSU in a tight second game, but was edged out 7-5.

Olivia Colman played closely against Steffi Rath for two matches, and earned the final point of the afternoon in a 6-4, 7-5 victory at No. 6.

The Aztecs will look to extend their winning streak when they face Sacramento State this weekend. Game time is scheduled for a noon PT start on Saturday.
