Women’s Tennis wraps play at ITA Regionals

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State women’s tennis played in the final day of ITA Southwest Regional Championships at the Barnes Tennis Center, playing consolation matches in both doubles and singles. The team ended Monday’s events with a win in doubles and two singles victories.
In singles events, Nadozie faced off against USD’s Nicole Anderson, finishing with an 8-6 win in the match. Freshman Abbie Mulbarger also walked away with a win on Monday, going 9-7 over Kati Kukaras (USD).
Sophomore Mia Smith struggled against Hawai’i’s Alzbeta Houbova in singles, dropping her match 6-1, 6-1, while senior Jana Buth fell to Roxanne Resma (Hawai’i) 6-3, 6-4. Junior Jenny Moinard kept things close against Klara Pribylova (Hawai’i), but was eventually defeated 7-6, 7-5, and Aubets dropped her matchup against Marina Hruba (Hawai’i) 6-2, 6-4.
The Aztecs will spend the next few weeks preparing for their second hosted tournament, the SDSU Fall Classic II, which is set for Friday-Sunday, Nov. 10-12.
