SDSU To Play Host To Arizona Friday
Aztec women's tennis will return from a 1-1 weekend as San Diego State will play host to the 28th-ranked Arizona Wildcats at the Aztec Tennis Center on Friday, Feb. 8, at 2 pm. The team will lead into Friday's match coming off split results last weekend, losing to No. 44 Washington, 5-2, and upsetting No. 40 Saint Mary's, 4-3.

Scouting The Wildcats
Arizona currently sits on a 4-2 record with wins over Northern Arizona, UC Davis, Minnesota and Sacramento State. The Wildcats recorded their two losses to No. 13 Texas A&M and No. 20 Texas Tech.

Head coach Vicky Maes is in her 12th year at the forefront of the Wildcats. As an alumna of the Arizona women's tennis team, Maes has led Arizona to team and/or individual postseason competition each year and won the 2003 Ojai Pac-10 title. Along the way, Maes has developed several first team All-Americans and All-Pac-12 women's tennis athletes.

Series History vs. Arizona
Friday's match will mark the highest rated team the SDSU has faced this season. Arizona owns the series record against the Aztecs, 13-9. San Diego State will be looking for a victory as the Wildcats have taken the last two consecutive matches by an identical score of 5-2. The meeting between the two schools was cancelled in 2010 due to inclement weather.

Last season, SDSU picked up wins in fifth and sixth singles but were unable to notch the victory. Arizona took the lead early, claiming the doubles point and moved on to find success in singles to eventually win, 5-2.
