SDSU To Face No. 43 49ers Friday
Aztec women's tennis will resume their season as SDSU will play host to the No. 43 Long Beach State 49ers at Aztec Tennis Center on Friday, Feb. 15, at 2 pm PT.

San Diego State will step onto a dry court after last Friday's match against No. 28 Arizona was canceled due to rain with no makeup date for the match announced. The Aztecs have a 3-1 record leading into the matchup against Long Beach State.

Scouting the 49ers
Long Beach State currently sits on a 4-1 record with wins over UC Riverside, Cal State Fullerton, LSU and UC Santa Barbara. Both San Diego State and Long Beach shutout UC Riverside this season 7-0. Similarly, the Aztecs defeated Cal State Fullerton 6-1 and the 49ers won 5-1. The only loss on the season for the 49ers was a 4-3 decision to Loyola Marymount.

Head coach Jenny Hilt-Costello has led the 49ers for 15 seasons and has won seven Big West Coach of the Year awards. Hilt-Costello has been at the forefront of the program's 12-consecutive winning seasons, 12-straight finals appearances at the Big West Conference Tournament and 12-consecutive nationally-ranked seasons.

Series History vs. Long Beach State
The Aztecs will be looking for a victory this Friday as the 49ers have won the last seven matches between the two teams. Prior to the 04-05 season, the Aztecs owned an undefeated 27-0 record against Long Beach State. The series record between the two teams now lies at 27-7 given that Long Beach has won the last seven outings. San Diego State last defeated Long Beach in 2005, 5-2.

In the last showdown between the two schools in 2012, San Diego State fell to the 49ers, 5-2. For the fourth time in the previous five matches, SDSU claimed the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. Unfortunately, San Diego State would pick up only one singles victory and ultimately come up short to Long Beach State.
