SAN DIEGO - The 54th-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team will welcome No. 9 Southern California on Tuesday at Aztec Tennis Center. First serve is set for 2 pm. Tomorrow's match will kick off a three-match homestand for the Aztecs.

The Trojans are coming off a 7-0 sweep of 42nd-ranked UC Irvine on Saturday. USC took every set and match in the outing at Laguna Niguel Racquet Club. Southern California will come into America's Finest City with all three doubles teams in the national rankings as well as six out of seven singles players holding a place in the standings. The Trojans have the upper hand in the all-time series over San Diego State, 4-38.

Last season, USC proved too much for SDSU as the then sixth-ranked Trojans blanked the Aztecs, 7-0. The Scarlett and Black will look for a better outcome on The Mesa on Tuesday.

San Diego State is coming off of a disappointing road trip to Seattle, Wash., this past weekend. The hosting Huskies took a 6-1 decision over the Aztecs on Friday. No. 41 Washington claimed all matches expect first singles. Two-time Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week and No. 35 Laura Antonaña Iriarte took her win streak in the first position to seven-straight decisions. Saturday saw SDSU drop a 4-3 heartbreaker to No. 35 Saint Mary's. The Aztecs took an early lead by claiming the doubles point but could not complete the effort and fell in singles play. San Diego State holds a 4-5 overall mark on the season.
