SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's tennis team will host No. 32 Pepperdine in their only match this week. SDSU (4-6) is scheduled to play at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Aztec Tennis Center.

The Aztecs will be looking to bounce back after dropping a close 4-3 decision to Long Beach State last Friday. Despite falling behind early with losses in all three doubles matches and then dropping its first two singles points, SDSU battled back to take a 3-2 lead when Julia Trunk won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 1 Singles. The Aztecs were unable to pick up the win though, as Long Beach State tied things up with a win at No. 2 and then earned the victory when Anna Jeczmionka emerged victorious at No. 5 against Olivia Colman.

SDSU still has two doubles teams ranked, Roxanne Ellison and Sierra Ellison are ranked No. 28 in the nation and Alicia Aguilar and Julia Wais make up the 63rd-ranked duo.

Pepperdine edged SDSU last year, 4-3, in a contest in Malibu, Calif. The Aztecs had been on a two-match winning streak before losing to the Waves on March 20, 2010. Before facing SDSU, Pepperdine (6-2) defeated 57th-ranked UC Santa Barbara, 7-0, at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
