SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's tennis team hits the road for the second straight weekend as it is set to face Boise State and Air Force at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado. The Aztecs and Broncos will take the court on Saturday at 10 a.m. MT, and then return to action on Sunday at noon MT to face the Falcons.

SDSU is coming off a weekend in which it traveled to Las Vegas and split a pair of matches with No. 45 TCU and New Mexico. The Aztecs dropped a hard-fought 5-2 decision to the Horned Frogs, but rebounded nicely against the Lobos as they notched a convincing 7-0 victory.

The 1-1 showing at UNLV's Fertitta Tennis Complex gave San Diego State an overall record of 7-10 and a 3-1 mark in the Mountain West. The Aztecs are currently in second place in the league standings behind TCU, which is 4-0. The Broncos, meanwhile, enter the weekend at 8-9 overall and 2-2 in the MW. Air Force, which was last in action on March 25, plays host to UNLV on Saturday and carries a 15-4 record (1-1 MW) into the contest.

San Diego State has won five of its last seven outings and has received an outstanding singles effort from its No. 1 player, Julia Wais. The senior has won seven consecutive matches and recently defeated TCU's nationally ranked and top singles performer, Stefanie Tan, in straight sets. Wais' doubles partner, Alicia Aguilar, has also performed well in singles of late, having won four matches in a row. Both are 4-0 in singles action vs. Mountain West foes.

Doubles has been steady all season long and SDSU's three tandems enter the weekend having won their last time out. Wais and Aguilar have won two straight matches, while Roxanne Ellison-Sierra Ellison and Emma Cioffi-Laura Antonana Iriarte were victorious in their outings vs. New Mexico. All three are 6-4 in their last 10 matches.

The Aztecs have faced Boise State three previous times, but Saturday's get-together will be the first as members of the MW. San Diego State has won all three meetings (1997, 1998, 1999), all of which were as members of the Western Athletic Conference.

SDSU heads into Sunday's clash having never lost to Air Force. The Aztecs are a perfect 13-0 vs. the Falcons and will be making their first trip to the Academy since 2004. That season, San Diego State escaped with a 4-3 win.

Following the road trip to Colorado, the Aztecs return home and step out of conference for a date against cross-town foe San Diego. The City Championship is set for Wednesday, April 11, at 2 p.m. PT on the Aztec Tennis Center courts. Admission is free.
