Women's Tennis set to host SDSU Fall Classic II

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State women's tennis is prepared to cap its fall schedule with the SDSU Fall Classic II this weekend, Nov. 10-12. The annual tournament features nine teams total, including the Aztecs, over the course of the weekend.
The teams set to travel to the Aztec Tennis Center this weekend include cross-town foe San Diego, conference opponents Fresno State and Air Force, and SoCal neighbor Cal Poly, as well as PAC-12 schools Colorado and Utah, and east coast travelers Columbia and Liberty University.
The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. each day with three doubles draws, while six singles brackets and a round robin event will immediately follow doubles competition.
In the first round of doubles play, sophomore Berta Acero and freshman Abbie Mulbarger will team up to take on Utah's Jasmine Rich and Victoria Robertson in the red draw, while seniors Jana Buth and Paola Diaz compete against Cal Poly's Molly Reed and Grace Olyphant in the black doubles bracket. Sophomore Mia Smith and junior Jenny Moinard are also set to compete in doubles competition, taking on Renne Ren and Sarah Hu of Columbia in the blue draw.
In singles action on Friday, Buth kicks things off in the 10 o'clock hour with a match against Liberty's Maria Medina in the red draw. Also competing at 10 a.m. for the Aztecs are freshman Nnena Nadozie, who takes on Cal Poly's Molly Reed in the green draw, and Diaz, who is set for Air Force's Meredith Laskey in the white bracket.
At 11:15 a.m., Mulbarger takes on Clarissa Jolley (Air Force) while Smith faces Celine Gruaz (Cal Poly) in the black draw. In the silver draw, junior Magda Aubets is slated against Columbia's Paulina Ferrari in the second round of singles matches at 11:15 a.m., while Moinard once again takes on Ren (Columbia) in the singles gold matchup. At 12:30 p.m., Acero will take on Utah's Rich in the singles round robin event.
Draws will be updated daily on GoAztecs.com. Admission to Fall Classic II is free and fans are encouraged to park in P7 on the corner of 55th Street and Montezuma Road. Parking is $2 per hour and is always required in P7. The Aztec Tennis Center is located just beyond Tony Gwynn Stadium, SDSU Softball Stadium and the Aztec Aquaplex on the northwest edge of campus.
