Competed for the Burbank High School track and field team where she was a four-year letterwinner ... one of the school's top sprinter and pole vaulters ... participated in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 competition, advancing to the finals in 2015 in the pole vault with a clear of 10-06.00 and running a time of 12.48 in the 100 prelims ... has a personal-best time of 26.63 in the 200 at the 2012 Tiger Invitational, while later running a time of 26.61 time at the Pacific League Finals ... was the 2012 Pacific League 100-meter champion.

Julia Newton was born March 26, 1997 in Burbank, Calif. ... plans to major in speech and language pathology with career plans to work in speech therapy ... her father, Mark, competed in the pole vault at Nebraska and later in the 1980 Olympics Trials ... also competed in soccer as a midfielder and forward ... won a national youth arts award for the role of Jenny June in the play, "Failure, a Love Story" and was a quarterfinalist in the duo interpretation at UC Berkeley forensic competition.
