ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Jasmine Burrell broke her own school record in the weight throw for the second time this season to pace the San Diego State track and field team Friday night at the Don Kirby Elite Collegiate in Albuquerque, N.M.

Burrell finished second out of 19 entrants with a heave of 68 feet, 1 inch (20.75m). Only 12 athletes had thrown farther than Burrell's 68-01.00 coming into this weekend. Burrell came into the 2014 indoor campaign with the school record of 64-01.25. This year, she has gone 66-09.25 (second place) at the Cherry & Silver Invite on Jan. 24, 63-09.75 (first) at the Howie Ryan Invite & Multi's on Jan. 31 and now 68-01.00 at the Don Kirby Elite on Feb. 14.

Nicole Oudenaarden, meanwhile, won the long jump out of 28 entrants with a leap of 19-06.75 (5.96m), narrowly defeating Allison Reaser's 19-04.75 (5.91m), who was sixth.

Reaser also shined on the track, running the ninth-fastest 200 in school history of 24.19 seconds. She finished 12th out of 54 in the loaded field.

Maderia Toatley won the unseeded 400 in 56.68 and came in 28th in the 200 (24.69). Dynasty Gammage (1:38.19) and Renetia James (1:38.90) were ninth and 11th, respectively, in the rarely-run 600, while Mikayla Howden (51-04.25) (15.65m)) and Ariel Oliver (44-04.75 (13.53m)) each finished in the top 20 of the weight throw, taking 16th and 19th.

The Aztecs are back in action on Saturday, beginning with the pole vault at 10:30 a.m. MT (9:30 a.m. PT). The meet will close for SDSU with the final of the 60 at 3 p.m. MT (2 p.m. MT).
