USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The San Diego State track and field slipped to second place after the second day of the Mountain West Indoor Championships Friday at USAF Academy, Colo.

With six of the 17 events completed, the Aztecs have totaled 33 points, trailing only New Mexico's 61. Following SDSU is Wyoming (31), Fresno State (22.50), Boise State (20), Colorado State (20), Utah State (18), Nevada (16), Air Force (8.50), UNLV (4) and San Jose State (0).

Holly Waseloff, who won the pole vault at the 2012 MW outdoor championships, led San Diego State today with a third-place showing with a mark of 13 feet, 2 ¼ inches (4.02m). Waseloff actually tied with three others at the 13-02.25, but was awarded third due to a tiebreaker with the fewest misses at previous heights throughout the competition. The 13-02.25 was a collegiate-best mark (indoor or outdoor) and was the sixth-best mark in indoor program history.

In the long jump, Shanieka Thomas (19-06.25) (5.95m)) and Nicole Oudenaarden (19-04.75 (5.91m)) each scored by taking fifth and sixth, respectively.

Jasmine Burrell, who broke her school record twice this year in the weight throw, finished sixth with a mark of 62-01.25 (18.93m).

The Aztecs also advanced four athletes on the track to Saturday's finals in six events, led by Meritzer Williams and Allison Reaser in two events apiece. Williams beat out 23 other entrants in the 60-meter prelims with a time of 7.45 seconds. It was the fourth-fastest time in school history. Williams also moved on in the 200, taking sixth in 24.59.

Reaser, who yesterday shattered a school record en route to taking second in the pentathlon, advanced in both the 60 hurdles (fifth, 8.51) and the 200 (seventh, 24.62).

The defending champion in the 60 hurdles, Kristen Brown ran the fastest time of the day in the prelims in 8.28 seconds. It tied her personal-best time, which is also the second fastest in program history.

Madison Gipson was the final SDSU athlete to move onto Saturday's final as she was eighth in the 60 hurdles in 8.72.

The distance medley relay team of Chelsea Kruthers, Oudenaarden, Dynasty Gammage and Rachel Roesgen finished ninth in 12:58.63.

The final day of competition on Saturday kicks off with the triple jump at 11 a.m. MT and concludes with the 4x400 at 2:30 p.m. MT.
