Oudenaarden Leads No. 18 T&F at Mt. SAC Heptathlon

AZUSA, Calif. - Nicole Oudenaarden is in 12th place after the first day of the Mt. SAC section of the heptathlon to lead the 18th-ranked San Diego State track and field team at the Mt. SAC Multi's Wednesday in Azusa, Calif.
After four of the seven events, Oudenaarden sits in 12th out of 20 entrants with 3,317 points. That's also third among collegiate athletes as Sharon Day-Monroe of Asics leads with 3,899. Allison Reaser is right behind Oudenaarden and tied for 14th at 3,297.
In the opening event of the heptathlon, Reaser came in third in the 100-meter hurdles in 13.50 seconds, while Oudenaarden was 20th in 15.37. Next up was the high jump, where Oudenaarden tied for ninth at 5 feet, 6 ½ inches (1.69 meters) and Reaser was 20th (4-11.50 (1.51m)). In the shot put, Oudenaarden had the second-best throw at 46-05.25 (14.15m), which was the 10th-best mark in school history, while Reaser took 13th at 38-02.25 (11.64m). Ending the first day was the 200 meters, where Reaser was fourth in 24.03 and Oudenaarden was 11th in a wind-aided 25.10.
Day two of the Mt. SAC section of the heptathlon gets underway at 1 p.m. PT Thursday with the long jump.
Karsen Sper and Sarah Haydock were also in action for the Aztecs as both competed in the CA Invite section of the heptathlon. Out of 50 entrants, Sper is 26th with 2,780 and Haydock is 47th with 2,099. Moe Sasegbon, who is competing unattached, leads with 3,317.
In the 100 hurdles, Sper was 15th in 14.95, while Haydock was 47th in 17.44. Sper tied for 30th in the high jump at 5-00.50 (1.54m) and Haydock was 48th at 4-06.75 (1.39m). Haydock came in 22nd in the shot put with a heave of 32-05.50 (9.89m), while Sper was 32nd in 29-06.75 (9.01m). In the 200, Sper was 17th in 25.96 and Haydock was $9th in 29.37.
The second day of the CA Invite portion of the heptathlon starts at 8:30 a.m. PT with the long jump.
