Ashley Henderson Finishes 10th at USA Outdoor Championships

San Diego State track and field junior Ashley Henderson placed 10th in the 100-meter dash semifinals on the second day of the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, narrowly missing a qualifying spot to the event finals on Friday.

In her first senior national championship, the St. Louis native crossed the finish line in 11.30 with the wind blowing 1.2 meters per second at her back. Henderson’s time was just .06 second out of a qualifying position to the 100 meters final. She placed fifth in the second heat and was 10th overall.

On Saturday, junior Simone Glenn runs in the first round of the 200 meters, scheduled for 12:15 p.m. PT. Aztec alum Allison Reaser also competes tomorrow, kicking off the first day of the heptathlon at 11:05 a.m.
