Triton Invitational: Fri., April 21 and Sat., April 22 | Live Stats | Meet Program | Meet Preview

Following a grueling week in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, San Diego State track & field will stay local when the team competes at UC San Diego's Triton Invitation Fri., April 21 and Sat., April 22.

The Aztecs are off to an early start on Friday when senior Freja Liljedahl competes in the hammer throw at 9:30 a.m. At 12:30 p.m., freshman Taylor Alexander, sophomore Marissa Berry, freshman Rachel Craft, sophomore Sara Curran and senior Katherine Magill are slated for the pole vault open. Senior Rachel Alesi is on tap for the discus invitational at 2:30 p.m., with sophomore Anushi Desai and freshman Alexis Williams closing SDSU's day at 4 p.m. with the discus open.

On Saturday, San Diego State's day begins at 10:30 a.m. with junior Melody Harris in the javelin. Junior Bonnie Draxler is slotted in for the Léon T. Roach III Pole Vault Invitational at 11 a.m. before senior Angel Bucci, junior Cindy Flores, senior Cali King, freshman Mary Kunigan, senior Elaine Ribeiro and junior Cassidy Towner run the 1,500 meters at 11:25 a.m. At noon, sophomore Je'Neal Ainsworth, senior Kira Moreland, senior Starlynn Singleton and sophomore Lisa-Anne Barrow will compete in the long jump. Senior Madison Gipson, sophomore Lakin Hatcher and senior Tyra Lea compete in the 400 at 12:30 p.m., ahead of performances by senior Kassidy Ellis, sophomore Sierra Brabham-Lawrence and senior Micha Auzenne in the 100-meter hurdles at 1:15 p.m.

At 2 p.m., Ellis and freshman Hannah Taylor take on the high jump invitational, while Alesi throws the shot put and junior Monique McPherson and sophomore Angela Wilson run the 800. The 100-meter dash happens at 2:55 p.m., with Singleton and junior Rochene Smith representing the Aztecs, just prior to Ainsworth's appearance in the triple jump at 3 p.m. Freshman Andrenette Knight and junior Jasmine Young are on tap for the 400-meter hurdles at 3:40 p.m., before the 200-meter dash at 4:10 p.m. for Barrow, Hatcher and Lea. The Scarlet and Black's distance runners conclude the meet for SDSU. Senior Elaine Ribeiro is scheduled for the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 5:40 p.m., while Bucci, Kunigan and Towner will run the 5,000 meters at 6:15 p.m.
