Five Aztecs Named To Mountain West Conference Women's Volleyball All-Academic Team

Five members of the 1999 San Diego State women's volleyball squad, including the team's only freshman selection, have been named to the Mountain West Conference All-Academic team.
The student-athletes selected to the team must have completed at least one term at the member institution, maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor to this squad.
A business management major, Bostian had a 3.23 grade-point average. She finished seventh all-time on SDSU's career assist list with 1,643.
Evans, a liberal studies major, recorded a 3.44 grade-point average this fall. A graduate of Monte Vista High School in Spring Valley, Evans finished the season as the team leader in kills and digs with 336 and 283 respectively.
Solberg scored the team's highest grade-point average. A psychology major, she finished with a 3.75 grade-point average. In 22 matches played, she tallied 46 kills and 13 digs.
For the second straight season, Dickson was named to the conference All-Academic team with a 3.73 grade-point average. She took over the full-time setting duties late in the season, registering a team leading 777 (7.33 apg) assists.
In her first semester at San Diego State, Akporiaye recorded a 3.17 grade-point average to complete SDSU's conference All-Academic team selection. An English major, Akoriaye had a solid season, highlighted by receiving Mountain West Conference Player-of-the-Week (Oct. 25-29) honors.
