AZTECS HOST WYOMING & COLORADO STATE THIS WEEK
San Diego State returns home this week to host a pair of Mountain West conference matches. On Thursday, Oct. 17, the Aztecs will square off against Wyoming in a contest scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. (PT) start on Aztec Court in Peterson Gym. Two days later (Saturday, Oct. 19), SDSU will face league-leading Colorado State which is ranked 12th in the nation this week.

SERIES RECORDS
San Diego State holds a 33-11 lead in its series with Wyoming since the teams first met in 1984. More recently, the Aztecs are 11-9 vs. the Cowgirls since the 2003 season including sweep of both matches vs. UW last season. The Aztecs are 20-1 vs. the Cowgirls in San Diego, 11-10 in Laramie and 2-0 on neutral courts.
The Aztecs' all-time record against Colorado State stands at 15-33 since the teams met in the second round of pool play at the 1980 AIAW Championships Regionals in Santa Barbara. The Rams have won 22 of the last 23 matches in a row against the Aztecs. SDSU's last victory in the series came last season (2012) in a four-set contest in San Diego. The Aztecs are 9-14 vs. the Rams at home, 5-17 away and 1-2 at neutral sites.

RICIGLIANO DIGS IT
Justin Ricigliano, making her first start at the libero position, recorded a career-high 24 digs in the four-set win at Air Force on Oct. 12. Her previous personal best of 13 digs was set earlier this season in a five-set match at Louisiana State on Aug. 31. Ricigliano also turned in a career-high four assists in the win at Air Force.

WABER SOLID UP FRONT
In the absence of Summer Nash last week, Michelle Waber led the Aztecs with 16 kills in each match (at New Mexico Oct. 10 and at Air Force Oct. 12). She also had a season-high eight digs at UNM and added eight more at Air Force for a weekly average of 1.67 per set, almost double her season mark. Over the last five contests she has averaged 3.39 kills per set.

SANDBERG COMING ON
Sophomore Kaja Sandberg had a number of career-bests during last Saturday's (Oct. 12) match at Air Force. Those personal highs included kills (9), attempts (20), service aces (2), block assists and total blocks (8) and points (15.0) Sandberg recorded six kills in the win over Fresno State on Oct. 3 and also set her Aztec high with a .667 hitting percentage in that match. Over the past six matches she has averaged 1.52 blocks per set and leads the team in that category this season with a mark of 1.09 bps.

HARRIS ON THE ATTACK
Middle blocker Emily Harris tops the team in hitting percentage with a mark of .343 after 16 matches. Her .331 career hitting percentage ranks fifth on the SDSU career list heading into this week's matches. She recorded a season-high .636 attack percentage in the contest against Nevada on Sept. 28. Harris' eight block assists in the win over Fresno State (Oct. 3) was her season high.

LITTLE SEES MORE TIME
Freshman Baylee Little set her SDSU personal highs in every category during last week's road trip to New Mexico and Air Force. At New Mexico she set career bests in hitting percentage (.346), kills (16) attempts (26), assists (2) and points (16.5). She also tied her highs in service aces (1), digs (3) and solo blocks (1). At Air Force she had career highs in block assists (5) and total blocks (5).

FOUCH MOVING UP THE CHARTS
Setter Johnna Fouch's three-plus year mark of 4,135 assists places her third on the SDSU career list. The top spot is held Andrea Clark (1994-97) with 4,916. Fouch ranks 10th on the Mountain West career assist list and needs 39 assists to move into the No. 9 spot. Her 41 career double-doubles is the most among active players in the Mountain West and is fourth on the all-time conference list.

AZTEC NOTES
The Aztecs have been involved in five five-set matches this season and have a mark of 1-4 in those contests. Last year they went 7-3 in five-set contests ... As a team, San Diego State ranks 22nd in the nation in assists (13.27 per set) and 26th in kills (14.08 per set) ... Halle Aiken had career highs of 10 kills, 12.0 points and a .500 hitting percentage in the match at Air Force on Oct. 12 ... Setter Chloe Mathis has notched a season-high nine digs in the contest at New Mexico on Oct. 10 ... Three players have started all 16 matches for the Aztecs this fall: Johnna Fouch, Emily Harris and Chaiymin Steel ... SDSU has won 25 of its last 27 home matches dating back to the 2011 season.

UP NEXT
San Diego State will be back on the road next week for a pair of Mountain West Conference contests. On Thursday, Oct. 24, the Aztecs will be in Logan, Utah, to take on Utah state at 7:00 p.m. (MT). Two days later (Saturday, Oct. 26), SDSU will visit Idaho for a 7:00 p.m. (MT) match against Boise State. Both of those contests will be broadcast live on the Mountain West digital network.
