SAN DIEGO, Calif. - San Diego State senior Andrea Hannasch has been named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America Women's Volleyball second team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced today.

A native of New Braunfels, Texas, Hannasch is majoring in mathematics with minors in physics and computer science. She has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.82.

Hannasch finished the season averaging 2.93 kills, 1.41 digs, 1.01 blocks and 3.67 points per set while hitting at a .301 clip. She ended her time at San Diego State second on the SDSU career list in block assists. She was a three-time all-Mountain West selection and was named the conference Player of the Week each of her four seasons as an Aztec. She ranked among the top 10 in the Mountain West in hitting percentage, blocks and points this past season.

She was recently named an honorable mention All-American for the second consecutive year by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

The academic All-America teams, which are selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
