SAN DIEGO - No. 9 San Diego State is set to play host to 19th-ranked Hartwick in its home opener Thursday at 3 p.m. PT before traveling to La Jolla for the UCSD Triton Invitational, which is slated for Saturday and Sunday.

Following their game with the Hawks, the Aztecs (3-0) will face Santa Clara in the opening game of the Triton Invitational. First sprint is slated for 10:40 a.m. PT at UC San Diego's Canyonview Pool. Depending on the outcome, SDSU will later face either Hartwick or No. 10 Arizona State. A loss to SCU will set the game time at 4 p.m. A victory, meanwhile, would put SDSU at Canyonview at 5:20 p.m.

The game vs. Hartwick at Aztec Aquaplex, which requires no admission to watch, will mark the third consecutive season in which the teams have met. SDSU is 9-2 all-time vs. the Hawks in a series that started in 2001, and has not dropped match since 2010 at the UCSD Invitational.

Hartwick makes the trip west with a 2-2 record after spending last week in Providence, R.I., at the Brown Invitational. The Hawks dropped their first two games to Wagner and No. 13 Indiana, before rebounding with wins over No. 20 Pacific and Marist.

Santa Clara, meanwhile, heads to UC San Diego to face the Aztecs having won two of its three games last week. The Broncos dropped their home and season opener to No. 6 Hawai`I before beating 16th-ranked Michigan at home and Cal State Monterey Bay on the road.

SDSU is coming off a week where it won three games in two days. The Aztecs dismissed Concordia and CSU Bakersfield in Riverside at the Lancer Mini on Saturday before beating No. 12 Long Beach State for the 11th time in their last 12 tries on Sunday in Long Beach.

After this week's busy schedule, San Diego State will take next week off and not be action until Feb. 22-23 at the UC Irvine Invitational.
