SAN DIEGO - Two San Diego State student-athletes have earned All-America honors, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced Wednesday. Junior Jenna Schuster (Upland, Calif.) was a second-team selection while classmate Anna Gonzales (Fresno, Calif.) received honorable mention recognition. The awards are the second for both players and marks the sixth time in head coach Carin Crawford's 10-year tenure that SDSU has had multiple All-America honorees.

Schuster led the Aztec offense by erupting for a team-high 83 goals, marking her second straight 80-plus scoring season. Her goal production was the fourth-best single-season total in school history, while her 2.24 goals-per-game average ranked third in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. Schuster found the back of the cage in 35 of 38 matches and was tops on the squad with 27 multiple-goal performances. She also excelled on the national stage, notching a pair of hat tricks at the NCAA tournament. Schuster moved up the SDSU charts in 2008 and currently ranks fifth all-time with 191 career goals.

Gonzales, meanwhile, had a stellar campaign with 77 goals, 52 steals and 39 assists. She led all Aztec starters with a .438 shooting percentage and finished the season ranked fifth in the MPSF with a 2.08 goals-per-game average. In addition to recording SDSU's seventh-highest single-season scoring output in 2008, the three-time letterwinner has already climbed into the school's all-time list with 103 assists (5th), 181 goals (6th) and 131 steals (9th). Gonzales concluded her banner season with back-to-back hat tricks at the NCAA championships.

San Diego State concluded its most successful season in the program's 14-year history with a 31-7 overall record and a fifth-place finish in its second consecutive NCAA tournament appearance.
