MW All-Academic Team Named for Fall 2015

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Twenty-five Aztecs were named to the Fall Academic All-Mountain West team, the conference office announced on Thursday. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team.

Ten football players earned the honor, including seniors Jeff Overbaugh, Paul Pitts III, Maxwell Smith and J.J. Whittaker. Women’s soccer, which earned its fourth straight Mountain West regular season title in 2015, had eight student-athletes on the list. Five student-athletes on the cross country team earned recognition, while a pair of sophomore volleyball student-athletes also garnered spots on the list.
